Passenger, aka Michael David Rosenberg, is headed out an extensive international tour, which kicks off in the US at the beginning of August. After a slew of North American tour dates, Passenger will head back overseas for a European tour in October, followed by a UK/Ireland tour in November and early December. We will get to see him when he arrives in Philly on August 8th to perform at the Electric Factory.
Passenger’s newest album, Whispers, will be released on June 10th. While a relatively new name to us here, the album is actually the 5th studio album for the Passenger. The English singer/songwriter actually has ties to our area; his father was originally from Vineland, NJ. In 2003, Rosenberg formed Passenger, the band. At the time of their first release, the band consisted of 5 members. Wicked Man’s Rest, their 2007 debut, was their first and only album recorded as a band. The band dissolved in 2009, and Rosenberg opted to continue using the moniker as his stage name.
Whispers is the follow up to 2012’s All the Little Lights, the album who’s hit single “Let Her Go” helped bring Passenger to main stage here in the US. That song was, and still is, everywhere you turn. Everyone is certainly excited to see what Rosenberg has up his sleeves for the his next release. To get a preview of what’s to come, you can listen to “Hearts on Fire,” the lead single from the upcoming album. Tickets officially go on sale 4/25 at 9am, but you can take advantage of a special venue presale on 4/24 at noon (the password is FACTORY).
