Chance the Rapper has canceled his set for the second weekend of Coachella, after being hospitalized for an undisclosed medical condition. He was scheduled to perform at 3:10 on Sunday on the main Coachella stage, but his management confirmed that his show was canceled because of health-related reasons. Someone close to Chance the Rapper published this photo of him in a hospital bed on his Instagram account earlier today, but didn’t give any information about exactly what’s going on.
On Friday, Chance the Rapper posted that he was sick, but that he would still be ready to go for his Coachella set this weekend. Sunday afternoon, a post to his Twitter account read:
“Chance fell ill on Friday night & was admitted to the hospital today- Doctors & family are with him & he is expected to make a full recovery.”
Another post, not long after the previous one, thanked fans for their support.
“Thank you for the prayers and support during this time, Chance, his team and family deeply appreciate it.”
Last week, Chance the Rapper surprised fans when Justin Bieber joined him onstage during his afternoon set to perform “Confident,” a collaboration between the two artists. You can catch the video of that unexpected performance below.
