LISTEN: Buzz Osborne Releases New Track “Drunken Baby”

It’s the latest release for Buzz Osborne of the Melvins. New track “Drunken Baby” is out, the second song he’s released from his upcoming album, This Machine Kills Artists.

The album is reportedly all acoustic, but don’t let that fool you into thinking that it’s just folk. The new track has a darker feeling than most folk music, with harsher, more amplified sounds, and Osborne’s dark, crooning voice that booms the lyrics. It’s intriguing to say the least. Osborne has called his music “molk,” meaning that it’s a metal/folk mashup, and that seems about right. This Machine Kills Artists is scheduled to make its debut in June, but Osborne is hitting the road before it comes out. His new tour dates start May 17th in Pomona, California and he will be on the road all the way through the end of July. Through all of this, Buzz Osborne is still a member of the Melvins and has been since 1984. He’s just taking a small break for a solo project.

“Drunken Baby” follows the release of Osborne’s first track from his newest album, “Dark Brown Teeth,” and it has a similar tone. You can listen to the new track below.
