A Special message from Wye Oak regarding current tour:

“Over the past several years of performing and touring, we have had the opportunity to spend time in so many of America’s great cities. Thanks to our fans’ continued support, we are now in a position where we can share some of our good fortune with those working on behalf of the communities we visit. We’re very excited to be working with Air Traffic Control in order to make this possible–with their assistance, $2 of every ticket sold on this tour will go to a local charity of our choice. We’re grateful to them for providing a simple and seamless process that will allow us and our fans to make a positive contribution to the places we visit.”

Wye Oak is an indie folk rock duo from Maryland. The duo consists of Andy Stack and Jenn Wasner. Wasner sings lead vocals and plays the electric and acoustic guitars, while Stack plays drums, keyboards and bass. In a Pitchfork review, their sound was described as “earnest folk-influenced indie rock with touches of noise and dream pop.”

Their debut album, If Children, was released independently in 2007. In 2008, they signed to Merge Records and re-released their debut album on the label. Their second album, The Knot, followed in 2009. Wye Oak’s third album, Civilian (2011), was also released on Merge Records in the U.S. and Europe. Their latest album, Shreik, is set to be released April 29.
