Scottish post-rockers Mogwai have announced that they will reissue Come on Die Young, the group’s second album. The group formed in 1995 but it was for Die Young that Pianist and Flautist Barry Burns was brought onboard. The album is being re-released in celebration of the 15th anniversary of the current roster.
Mogwai released new material on their Rave Tapes album earlier this year. Since then they have taken to the tour circuit. They were one of the early names mentioned in this year’s Glastonbury lineup and they are also expected to perform at the Latitude Festival in July. They will also be rocking out at few other events this summer including a sideshow slot at Coachella.
The reissue of Come on Die Young is a testament to a group that while at the height of productivity, still seems deeply rooted in their origins. The 1999 Dave Friedman produced album will be re-mastered and include over an hour of demos, new tracks, behind the scenes material, and the Travels in Constants Vol. 12 EP from 2001. The reissue will come in a 4xLP format as well as a 2xCD box set. Or, if you don’t have enough room on the shelf, digital downloads will also be made available.
