According to Rolling Stone, the mega three-day concert festival taking place this weekend that is Coachella, has released their set times, and boy have they added a treat for their attendees.
Already jam packed with such amazing chart toppers as Lorde, Aloe Blacc, Ellie Goulding, Pharrell Williams, Kid Cudi, Foster the People, and Skrillex, Coachella has added Pixies and the Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas to round out the legends section already filled by Nas, Motorhead, Outkast, and the Pet Shop Boys. Pixies and Julian Casablancas are set to play the Mojave tent on Saturday.
Fans of both additions to the festival can look forward to being blessed by brand new music this weekend. Pixies announced last month, the release of their first full-length album since 1991’s, Tromple le Monde, titled Indie Cindy. Combining the group’s three EPs released since last September, the band will release a 12-track album on April 29th, through their own label, Pixiemusic.
Although he hasn’t announced a release date yet, Casablancas recently shared a preview of what he’s been working on with his band the Voidz. Also being released on his own label, Cult Records, this album will be the follow up to his 2009 solo effort Phrazes For the Young. Between Lollapalooza in Chile on March 30th, and two sets at the Governors Ball on June 8th, which includes one with the Strokes, Casablancas will be playing numerous solo gigs in South America including Argentina, and Brazil.
