BORIS have broken their three year silence, announcing their forthcoming album, Noise.
The Japanese three-piece announced the release of their first official album in a little while, Noise, while dropping their new track “Quicksilver” today on Pitchfork. The thrashing, raging, 7 minute track is everything we would expect from BORIS, who have always pushed the limits of metal and rock in their work. The layered screams over a punk-metal-hardcore drumming style from drummer/vocalist Atsuo, as well as the precise but dirty riffs of guitarist/vocalist Wata and bassist/guitarist/vocalist Takeshi, are unreal.
The sheer volume of BORIS work is impressive;and yet with over 20 albums under their belt, they still claim “If we had to suggest just one album for those unfamiliar with BORIS’ music, we will pick this for sure.” The news has set lovers of rock abuzz with excitement, and the trio plans to deliver in the darkest of their albums yet. Fans can also catch them on their first North American dates, starting in San Diego, where they will be kicking off with a performance of “Noise” in it’s entirety.
