The Mountain Goats Twin Inhuman Highway Fiends tour is locked and loaded. That is, in fact, the real name of the tour, proof that an indie band can get as metal as they damn well please.
Fine, we’ll admit that the name might be a joke. But we’re still going to use it, because how could we not. We’re not entirely sure where the “Inhuman Highway Fiends” part comes from, but we do at least understand the “Twin”. Anyone attending one of these shows is going to be seeing the two-man incarnation of Mountain Goats, consisting of John Darniell and Peter Hughes. Don’t let the name throw you – Mountain Goats was, for a very long time, just Darniell masquerading as a full band. Hughes was only the second official member, and together they make up the core of the Mountain Goats.
The two have toured together before, and are apparently none the worse for the experience. Instead, they’re apparently champing at their respective bits to work as a duo once more.
