Peter Hook & The Light are set for a Fall 2014 campaign. We’d usually follow that up by talking about the upcoming album they’re supporting, but Hook’s band is a little different. Details below.
Some of you may have recognized Hook’s name from slightly different contexts. The English artist is best known for his work as bassist for Joy Division and New Order. Joy Division first popped up in the mid 1970’s, evolving to become one of the most recognizable post-punk bands in existence. Four years of building success ended with the suicide of frontman Ian Curtis. The rest of Joy Division carried on after the tragedy, renaming the band New Order, a flag that they still play under today.
Peter Hook & The Light has largely acted as Hook’s touring vehicle. The band is known for playing classic Joy Division and New Order albums. As you may have guessed from earlier descriptions, this has given them a practically endless well of quality material. Several releases, including New Order albums Brotherhood and Low Life, as well as the seminal Joy Division albums Unknown Pleasures and Closer are getting the treatment this time around. Check below for dates.
