Zeds Dead @ Tower Theater 5/9

The EDM duo, Zeds Dead, is headed to the Tower Theater on May 9th! The Canadian pair consists of Dylan Mamid, better known as DC, and Zach Rapp-Rovan, better known as Hooks. They’ve been making music together since 2004, but officially launched Zeds Dead in 2009, taking their name from the film Pulp Fiction.

A majority of Zeds Dead releases have been free downloads. In doing so they had gained international celebrity long before their first official release. The first song distributed by the pair was “Journey of a Lifetime” in 2009. They continue to provide their fans with a plethora of free music for their downloading pleasure. Their most recent release was January’s Hot Sauce released via their label Mad Decent. The 5 song EP finds “the duo exploring more sonic territory with their music, further proving that they are one of the most versatile electronic groups around.”

You may remember back in 2012, the Zeds Dead show at the Electric Factory was cancelled before the duo even had a chance to perform. After four people, mostly teens, overdosed on an unidentified drug the event was shut down. They later moved the performance to Lit Ultra Lounge, making the concert a 21+ event. This year, concert promoters and venue officials seem to not be taking any chances. Make sure to take a look at the list of restricted items before you show up. The Tower will be restricting things like LED Gloves, Glowsticks, candy necklaces, and even open chapstick. The May event is an all ages show and all seating will be general admission.
