Foxy Shazam released the entire new LP Gonzo for free online and announced an extensive tour in support of the new record starting on May 27th.
Formed in 2004 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Foxy Shazam is known for their “animalistic” antics and loud playing. After signing with Sire Records, Foxy Shazam worked with multi-platinum record producer John Feldmann and released a self-title album and The Church of Rock and Roll. Song “Holly Touch” was chosen as Top 40 songs of 2013 by MXDWN. Reaching the brink of huge success on the backs of a handful of quirky pop-oriented albums, the band left major label representation to dictate their own career and delivers a brutally honest emotional masterpiece Gonzo. More groundbreaking than the music is their decision to release the entire album online for free. Fans can download the album now via www.foxyshazam.com.
Foxy Shazam recorded this album with famed engineer Steve Albini (Nirvana, Fugazi, The Pixies, Iggy & The Stooges) over a dreary Halloween holiday in Chicago, IL. The result, according to singer Eric Nally, is “by far the most personal album to me.”
