Devo returns after the death of a band member. This summer tour will be a dedication to the memory of the passed-away guitarist/keyboardist Bob Casale.
American New Wave band Devo lost original member Bob Casale this February. Bob Casale was recruited by his brother Gerald Casale to join Devo. Starting as a guitarist and keyboardist, Bob became sound engineer for all of Devo’s albums after 1984. He had also engineered the first solo album for Police guitarist Andy Summers. Bob later began working for TV and movies, including “Four Rooms”, “Happy Gilmore”, “Rushmore”, “The Royal Tenenbaums” and “Rugrats Go Wild”.
This upcoming tour is a dedication to Bob Casale, who passed away in February from complications with heart failure at the age of 61. A portion of the tour’s proceeds will go to his family.
Bob is not the first one to leave in Devo. Its longtime drummer Alan Myers passed away as well last year.
