Scottish indie pop veterans Camera Obscura are back. North American tour dates have been set, including a redo of a previously cancelled New York show. Check below for tickets and dates.
It’s been a long ride for the Scots. Camera Obscura released their first album way back in 2001, and after five more, they seem to be hitting their stride. Their two last albums – My Maudlin Career in 2009, and Desire Lines in 2013 – both worked their way up UK and American charts. And then they took a break. Why? Not drugs, not alcohol, not acrimonious falling-outs with one another. Nope – kids. Founding members Tracyanne Campbell and Gavin Dunbar took respective (separate) maternity and paternity leaves following new familial arrivals.
But that’s all over and done with (well, very temporarily), it’s time to hit the road. Camera Obscura is set for a solid pace in July, with shows set in NY, Washington DC, and Chicago, among others.
