Merge Records celebrates its 25th birthday with a special music festival in North Carolina.
Founded in 1989 by Laura Ballance and Mac McCaughan, Merge Records has been home for bands like Arcade Fire, Dinosaur Jr., Neutral Milk Hotel, Polvo, and She & Him. Recently, it has released Mikal Cronin’s album MCII, Arcade Fire’s new material, and Destroyer’s new album Five Spanish Songs . It will soon release Wye Oak’s new album Shriek.
Full festival passes are $195 but they will guarantee entrance to various events including July 23 Baldwin Auditorium, Duke University Campus, Durham, NC; July 24 Cat’s Cradle, Carrboro, NC; July 25 Cat’s Cradle, Carrboro, NC; July 26 Full Day Music Concert, outdoors, Carrboro, NC. There will also be opening night & closing night party details to be announced. Tickets to individual events are available as well.
