Hardcore punk band Fucked Up plans to release a new album this summer and a new track, “Paper the House,” is out now.
The new album, Glass Boys, drops June 3 via Matador Records. It’s the group’s fourth album, following 2008’s The Chemistry of Common Life and 2011’s David Comes to Life, both huge albums for Fucked Up. The former set high stakes, with seven-minute tracks and unconventional arrangements. The latter kept the innovation coming with a full-blown rock opera.
Glass Boys will be a more direct, concise album compared to the first two by Fucked Up, but it is by no means simple. In this Stereogum piece, the band explains the themes of the new album, including reconciling who you are as an adult with your teenage self.
