We all wish we could be in Austin this week, catching the SXSW showcases, music festivals and surprise concerts from the audience. But if you can’t be in the crowd, watching the live stream online is the next best thing. Starting on Wednesday, March 12, SXSW has announced that it’s bringing five nights of music showcases at the North Door to the world wide web.
The livestream music showcases kick off with a night of local Austin bands, culminating with Austin indietronica band The Octopus Project. Thursday brings a night of shows presented by record label Totally Gross National Product and featuring singer-songwriter/entertainer Har Mar Superstar. SXSW hasn’t said much about Friday and Saturday night’s shows, except that they’ll be a pair of hip hop showcases, one hosted by label Stones Throw. Plus, North Door is putting on a special Latin showcase, as part of the festival’s SXAmericas programming.
