Benjamin Laub, also known by his stage name Grieves, is a hip-hop artist from Chicago, Illinois. His father introduced him to the music world by exposing him to local jazz and blues clubs. By 19, he broadened his music interests and later chose hip-hop as his art form. He is currently signed to Rhymesayers Entertainment.
Grieves released his debut album, Irreversible, in 2007. Shorty after, Grieves began collaborating with Seattle-based producer Budo, a talented multi-instrumentalist that helped him complete his next two albums, 88 Keys & Counting (2008) and Together/Apart (2011). Grieves’ second album, Together/Apart, debuted at No. #1 on the Billboard Heatseeker’s Chart and #106 on the overall Billboard Top 200 chart.
In 2011, Grieves performed at South By Southwest and was a part of the Vans Warped Tour line-up. In February of this year, he announced the release of his newest album, Winter & The Wolves, along with a music video to his newest single off the album, “Shreds.” Grieves also announced a world tour across Europe and North America. Grieves will play the Stubb’s Indoor stage May 13.
