Hellogoodbye & Vacationer @ Underground Arts 4/24

On April 24th, join Vacationer and Hellogoodbye at the Underground Arts! The two are embarking on a co-headlining tour this spring which will begin on April 15th in Chicago and wrap up at the end of May.

Hellogoodbye released their first full-length album Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs! way back in 2006. Since then, the California rockers have made changes to both their label and their lineup. Their newest album, Everything is Debatable, is out now via Old Friends Records. The album is Hellogoodbye’s first studio release since 2010’s Would It Kill You?, which marked the band’s first steps away from the synth-pop sounds of their debut album. The third, and most recent album, seems to be a marriage of the two sounds. So why the long delay between the album releases? Frontman Forrest Kline explains, “I’m super slow at everything no matter what I do…Everything becomes a process and musically it’s the same thing. If I do one thing, I have to do 900 tasks to get it done, so to be able to take the time with this album was a relief because I didn’t have to stress about not having enough time to accomplish everything I wanted to do with these songs.”

Philly music fans should already be familiar with co-headliners Vacationer – as the band is based out of Philadelphia. Lead singer Kenny Vasoli was also the lead singer for The Starting Line. The inspiration to form Vacationer came after watching LCD Soundsystem and other acts performing at 2010’s Bonnaroo music festival. The band released their first LP in 2012. “Trip” was the lead single from their debut album, Gone. They are currently hard at work on their second studio album which is slated for a 2014 release.

The two bands will be joined by special guests The Heavenly Beat. You can stream some of their music on the band’s Tumblr. Tickets for the show are going fast! So be sure to get yours soon!
