A special tribute to the diversity of Lou Reed’s music will be hosted at SXSW, a festival known for its unique international cross-section of artists
Rock legend of the Velvet Underground, Lou Reed passed away on October 27, 2013. In order to “highlight the rich diversity of Lou Reed’s highly influential catalogue”, Lou’s close friends Richard Barone and Alejandro Escovedo will present an all-star, multi-artist concert event during SXSW, featuring a curated roster of talent drawn from SXSW Music Festival participants, a stellar house band, and special guests brought in specifically for this presentation. The event promises that “the artistic style and high quality production values (including rare images and film footage) will be reflective of Reed’s esteemed career and his legendary artistic integrity.”
The event will be held at the historic Paramount Theatre (713 Congress Ave) on Friday, March 14 from 7:30 PM until midnight.
