The Walkmen’s Hamilton Leithauser Announces Debut Album Black Hours for May 2014 Release

Hamilton Leithauser, the former frontman for The Walkmen, is releasing his debut solo album on May 6.

The album, Black Hours, allowed Leithauser to collaborate with a number of artists, including Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij, Fleet Foxes’ Morgan Henderson, The Walkmen’s Paul Maroon and The Shins’ Richard Swift. Black Hours showcases Leithauser’s musical range, with both laid-back tracks and songs with a more rock ‘n’ roll vibe. Below you can watch the official music video for the first single, “Alexandra.”

In January, Leithauser participated in the short No Other tour honoring Gene Clark. The Walkmen toured with Father John Misty in January 2013 and played at Fun Fun Fun Fest in November of last year, but later they announced that they are on an indefinite hiatus.
