Next month will see the release of the first televised concert performance by bluegrass phenoms Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers, featuring Edie Brickell. The group is then set to hit the road in May, with Brickell and others, such as Martin Short, joining them along the way.
Filmed last fall, Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers featuring Edie Brickell Live will be aired on the PBS program Great Performances in March – check local listings for the premiere date. A CD/DVD package containing two hours of bluegrass and comedy will also be released March 11th, via Rounder Records, with songs including Martin and Brickell’s Grammy-winning “Love Has Come For You,” for Best American Roots Song.
