Yoshiki Announces Spring 2014 Tour Dates

Japanese rock legend Yoshiki has become the first Asian musician to be honored by The GRAMMY Museum, and he follows up this exhibition with an international spring tour starting in the US.

Songwriter, drummer, and classically trained pianist Yoshiki is a legend in the Asian rock scene. His band, X Japan, has sold 30 million singles and albums combined and filled the 55,000-seat Toyko Dome a record 18 times. He has composed and performed for the tenth year of the Emperor of Japan’s reign and the opening ceremony of the World Expo. He has also collaborated with acclaimed Beatles producer Sir George Martin. Beyond music, legendary comic book writer Stan Lee recently created a Super Hero based on him, even Hello Kitty names one of their product lines, Yoshikitty, after him.

On February 19th, the GRAMMY Museum unveiled their Yoshiki exhibit, which makes Yoshiki the first Asian musician The GRAMMY Museum honors. The exhibition features his signature crystal piano and flamboyant wardrobes.

On the opening night, which was hosted by Stan Lee and head of music at William Morris Endeavor, Marc Geiger, Yoshiki announced his spring international tour in support of his acclaimed new album Yoshiki Classical, which Pianist Magazine raved as “true labor of love from a talented artist who’s made an impressive mark within the classical and rock genres.”
