Mad Decent, the record label started up by Diplo in the late ’00s, is taking the success of their annual Block Parties to the ocean this year, with the inaugural Mad Decent Boat Party. Set to sail November 12th-16th, this particular boat will see performances from the likes of Major Lazer, Riff Raff and Diplo, himself.
In 2013 Mad Decent Block Parties were held in cities ranging from Las Vegas to Detroit, and over 127,000 tickets were sold for 14 dates. The label looks to transfer that hype to the sea, positioning major electro and dancehall acts from their roster onto the Norwegian Pearl as the cruise ship makes it way from Miami to Nassau, then Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas.
While not jamming out to their favorite performers, those aboard the ship can take advantage of The Pearl Club Casino, 19 eateries, 13 bars and lounges, and an expansive selection of spas and outdoor activities.
