Exploring the artier, heavier side of indie rock, post-punk, and alternative rock, Austin’s all-women rock band herald the upcoming album Monuments with a new single .
Hailing from Austin, Texas, Ume is an all-women band that consists of Lauren Larson (Vocals, Guitar), Eric Larson (Bass), and Rachel Fuhrer (Drums). The band is known for “the loud and soft, the aggressive and eerie, buoyant melodies bursting through wall-of-noise dissonance.” Village Voice proclaimed: “Ume possesses an air of intelligence and depth rare in a genre known primarily for its copious drug use.”
The new album Monuments is announced to be scheduled for a March release. The album is heralded by surprisingly heavy single “Black Stone”.
The band was featured at Fuck Yeah’s Tumblr SXSW Interactive 2013 Party.
