Chromeo Announce New Album White Women for May 2014 Release + Spring Tour Dates

Canadian electrofunk duo reveals details on their forth album through Valentine’s Day Craiglist personal ads.

Though Chromeo had announced announced the coming of their forth studio album, White Women,  a while ago, and have shared two singles, “Over Your Shoulder” and “Come Alive”, from the upcoming album, it wasn’t til this Valentine’s that we get to know the details of their plan, and it comes with a surprising stunt: the official release was announced by way of Craigslist personal ad!

Slated for release on May 12th via Big Beat / Atlantic, this new album is said to be “their most fully realized body of work to date.” With music ranging from sultry R&B hooks to classic rock riffs with their always hilarious and charmingly vulnerable lyrics, White Women, is their reinterpretation of the late great 70s and 80s disco funk era that gave way to the culture from which they were born.

Dave and Pee, the self-proclaimed “Larry David of Funk” duo, kicked off the album campaign by making TV history with their live version of “Sexy Socialite” with Death From Above 1979 on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. They will also be appearing at major festivals this year, including Sweetlife, Melt Festival, Buku Music + Art Project, and HARD.

They will also embark on a spring tour this year
