Bright Eyes founder and Monsters of Folk member Conor Oberst will be releasing a solo album on May 20, 2014.
The forthcoming album, Upside Down Mountain, will be released through Nonesuch Records, the label that recently signed Oberst. The singer-songwriter will be touring in support of the new record, with special guest Dawes. The first track available for streaming is “Hundreds of Ways.”
Before the album drops in May, Oberst will be releasing a limited edition seven-inch single for Record Store Day, April 19. The special release will feature “Hundreds of Ways” from Upside Down Mountain, as well as album outtake “Fast Friends” on its B-side.
Last year, Oberst played solo at the Newport Folk Festival and the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in October. He also did some touring with one of his many projects, Desaparecidos, and released streams of new music with the group.
