This April, Dan Croll will hit the stage at Union Transfer! With the success of his hit single “From Nowhere,” Croll has been steadily gaining attention both at home, in Liverpool, and across the pond. But it’s not just fans like you and I who are vocalizing their support of the young singer/songwriter. In 2011, Croll received the Songwriter of the Year award while studying at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. He was one of 8 students selected to work with Sir Paul McCartney. In typical McCartney fashion, he described Croll’s music as “groovy.” After playing a few songs for the former Beatle, Croll says, “He suggested a couple of harmonies, but he felt like they were very strong songs and obviously to have Paul McCartney say that to you is just incredible.”
Croll’s first album Sweet Disarray will be released in March of this year. Expect to hear much of the eclectic sound you’ve become familiar with. Croll says the album will feature “different tracks inspired by different genres.”
Most recently, Croll toured with fellow UK musicians London Grammar. He has also toured with the likes of Imagine Dragons and Bastille. In March he’ll embark on his first headlining tour of the UK. He heads to the US in April – joining us here in Philly on Sunday, April 20th. (He’ll also be at Firefly in June).
Panama Wedding, a New York based synth-pop band, will provide support for the April 20th show. You can check out their debut single “All Of The People” here. Tickets for the show are on sale now!
