Owen Pallett Spawns New Album Dealing with the Sunny Side of Internal Confusion and Mental Discord Caused by Addiction, Depression, and Human Identity.
We are stoked to announce the new album from visionary composer, Owen Pallett, titled In Conflict due out May 13th, 2014. Contributions from Brian Eno and The Czech Filmharmonic Orchestra should only serve to heighten interest in this project. It is interesting to say the least, with many different qualities, ranging from progressive/experimental to completely mainstream sounds that remind me of Air Supply or Christopher Cross, with equal power to stir emotions, the reason, perhaps, it can exist in the mainstream and be fully accepted by pop culture. This strongly correlates with the theme, which examines the cognitive dissonance in the mind, regarding addiction disease, depression, and gender confusion. Each initially cause pain, but when resolved, these seemingly horrible states produce renewed understanding and freedom for the once suffering victim.
Something you may find interesting about Pallett, is that he recently worked on the film score for the Spike Jonze movie, HER.
