Slayer Announce Spring 2014 Tour Dates with Suicidal Tendencies and Exodus

Slayer is set to hit the road with a couple of very special guests in tow. Joining the thrash titans are Suicidal Tendencies – metal veterans who toured with Slayer in 1990. Exodus will also be present. No Kirk Hammett this time around, but lead guitarist Gary Holt is, and will be filling Jeff Hanneman’s considerable shoes.

Should be one heck of a tour. Slayer needs no introduction; they’ve long been respected as among the hardest hitting outfits on earth. Suicidal Tendencies and Exodus are cast from the same mold and the same era, and can kick some serious ass in their own right.

Slayer’s future has been in doubt ever since the tragic death of founding member and guitarist Jeff Hanneman. Frontman Tom Araya has even hinted that the band may not continue beyond its upcoming tour dates. But the new dates give the band a lease on life until May at the least.

Exodus has also been busy – the band is actually set to perform at the inaugural Fear FestEVIL put on by Kirk Hammett. Hammett, a founding member of Exodus, will also be joining them onstage for a rare reunion.

Meanwhile, Suicidal Tendencies has signed on for several of the upcoming mega-concerts we’ll be seeing this Spring and Summer.
