The Pizza Underground, a band featuring the home alone star, is gearing up for a new tour including a stop at SXSW. The band essentially covers the quintessential New York band: The Velvet Underground, but with a “cheesy” twist.
All of their songs turn the title and lyrics pizza themed. For example: All Tomorrow’s Parties is now All the Pizza Parties and Lou Reed’s Walk On the Wild Side becomes Take a Bite of the Wild Slice. If that was enticing enough one of the band members plays percussion on a pizza box and Culkin plays the kazoo. That is not a mistake, I said kazoo. The band may come off a little hipster, (or a lot hipster), but nonetheless they are entertaining. If you want to get a feel for their music check out their sample demo below:
The tour is much more than just SXSW and you can see them all across the country. Check it out and see if they play near you, or better yet, head out to SXSW!
