Rancid’s Tim Armstrong Announces Solo Art Exhibition Avenues & Alleyways

Punk rocker Tim Armstrong is having his first solo art show at Shepard Fairey and Blaze Blouin’s gallery SUBLIMINAL PROJECTS in Los Angeles. The show will present Armstrong’s inspiring approach to music.

Tim Armstrong is best-known as a Grammy-award-winning musician and the lead singer for 90s punk revival icon Rancid, but he has more talents than music. From January 24 to February 22, 2014, Tim Armstrong is having his first solo art show in SUBLIMINAL PROJECTS, a gallery founded by famous street artists Shepard Fairey and Blaze Blouin. The show, Avenues & Alleyways, will feature drawings, paintings, watercolors, and mixed media works on found materials that Armstrong and Shepard Fairey had worked on together. It strives to present Armstrong’s approach to music, an approach that believes in the aesthetic of “passion is more important than precision”. As Shepard Fairey has said: “If Tim’s drive and proliferation in multiple mediums don’t inspire you to get off your ass, nothing will!”

On the opening night of the exhibition, 100 limited edition of a box set with 45 screen prints will be released. All prints are modeled after the 7 inch 45 format and will be numbered and signed by Armstrong. The box set is limited to one per person/household. There will also be a special performance by Tim Timebomb & Friends on opening night.
