elbow’s upcoming full length, previously named Carry Her Carry Me, can now be addressed as The Takeoff And Landing Of Everything and is scheduled for a March 11 release date.
This is actually the third name for the group’s new release, which was originally titled All At Once. Apparently inspired by a six-week stay in NYC, the album was recorded at the band’s facility at Blueprint Studios in Salford, with some additional sessions at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios (fitting considering his influence on the group). For now, check out the achingly honest “Fly Boy Blue / Lunette”, the first single off the album. The accompanying video pieces together footage from the recording process and was undertaken by the band’s oft-time visual collaborators The Soup Collective.
Playing chaser to 2011’s excellent build a rocket boys! will be a difficult burden for The Takeoff And Landing Of Everything which will be released in store and digitally via Concord this March 11, 2014.
