Welp, looks like we’ve got both life and death – damn fitting for black metal. It isn’t every day that a band pairs a new album release with an official breakup. But hey, no one told Twilight; the band has a new record out in March, and it also happens to be their last.
At least we get one more album. Details on the dissolution are a little sketchy at the moment, but one thing does seem clear: Twilight’s packing up and calling it a day (or night…whatever). Blake Judd (Nachtmystium) is conspicuously absent on the album credits, a possible consequence of his recent legal troubles. The remaining crew includes Stavros Giannopoulos (Atlas Moth), Sanford Parker (Minsk, Nachtmystium), and Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth. III: Beneath Trident’s Tomb is Moore’s first and only record with the band, though he seems to have already left his noise-rock stamp on Twilight – check album single “Lungs” below and see what we mean.
III: Beneath Trident’s Tomb 01. Lungs (Whitehead/Jameson)
02. Oh Wretched Son (Giannopoulos/Whitehead/Jameson) 03. Swarming Funereal Mass (Whitehead/Jameson)
04. Seek No Shelter Fevered Ones (Giannopoulos/Whitehead/Jameson)
05. A Flood of Eyes (Giannopoulos/Moore/Whitehead/Jameson) 06. Below Lights (Parker/Jameson)
