Iggy Pop, Joe Walsh and New Order to Perform at Tibet House Benefit Concert

Founded in 1987 at the request of the Dalai Lama, Tibet House U.S. Benefit Concert this year will feature a star-studded lineup at New York City’s Carnegie Hall on March 11th.

According to RollingStone, Tibet House Benefit holds annual concert to “preserve the Tibetan civilization with a cultural center, gallery and library.” It was first founded at the request of the Dalai Lama,
Tibet House Benefit never fails to impress audiences with amazing line-ups. Last year, it featured Patti Smith, Tenzin Choegyal, Tune-Yards, Jim James of My Morning Jacket, Ariel Pink and Rahzel.
It is believed that Tibet is under cultural and religious oppression of Chinese government. The concert is aimed to raise awareness of this situation of Tibet.

Iggy Pop
Joe Walsh
New Order
Patti Smith and Her Band
Bryce Dessner (the National guitarist)
Techung (Tibetan singer-songwriter )
Nico Muhly
Philip Glass.
