On the verge of their 30th birthday, the mighty GWAR has announced it will finally appear in Japan. After almost three decades of non-stop mayhem Oderus and the horde will pay a visit to the Land of The Rising Sun.
Japanese metal heads are about to experience first-hand the most insane metal act in the world; GWAR announced today they’ll be visiting Godzilla’s domains bringing all the extravaganza only Oderus Urungus and his droogs are able to pull off. “A lot of people think we have played there already because of our album, Live at Mt. Fuji,” said the frontman. “But that was in fact recorded in the future!”
The extravaganza will take place on march 6 and 7 and will come after their performance in the Soundwave Festival in Australia. As expected, the Virginia-grown band will deliver, they will bring their full show including beheadings, disembowelments, mutant cyborg Sawborg Destructo, the Biledriver and Gor-Gor, the all-but-subtle Tyrannosaurus Rex Oderus and the gang call ‘pet’.
Tickets for these shows will be available during the Creative Man pre-sale on Jan 13-17. The most important metal radio program in Japan “Power Rock Today” will also hold a pre-sale on Jan 8. Check the tour dates to access the local Ticketmaster pre-sale and general public sale which will take place from Jan 25th.
