For the first time since its creation in 2000, All Tomorrow’s Parties will not be held in its founding city of Camber Sands, England, but it has announced plans for its return to Iceland this July.
Headlining the Icelandic installment will be Portishead and Interpol, neither of which have played the Nordic country before. According to Spin, ATP founder Barry Hogan has said the following about the two main acts:
Portishead have a rich history and close relationship with us, which started with them curating ATP back in 2007 after a long live-hiatus and being the first ever curators for the I’ll Be Your Mirror series. Interpol on the other hand, while being long-time ATP favorites, have never played the event, and it’s an exciting prospect that the eagerly awaited second Icelandic ATP will be their first.
Below is a listing of the initial lineup, which flanks the headliners with a handful of Icelandic acts, and additional bands will be revealed over the next few weeks. Click here for more info on tickets to the festival.
UPDATE 5/2: All Tomorrow’s Parties has just added a good number of new bands to their roster, including Devenda Banhart, Liars and Mogwai. See below for the updated lineup:
