Xiu Xiu Announce New Album Angel Guts: Red Classroom for February 2014 Release And Tour Dates

The characteristically dark synthpop outfit are apparently taking things in an even more sinister direction with their upcoming release (which will include numerous supporting tour dates).


Principal songwriter Jamie Stewart’s move from North Carolina to Los Angeles has apparently resulted in an album inspired by his dangerous new neighborhood with topics including: murder, double suicide, double penetration, criminality, and fear of physical harm. “I know to a degree I must have romanticized it,” Stewart admits, “But when it’s not safe to go out at night, what else can one?” Their chosen arsenal is equally intriguing: analog synths, standard drum kit and 70’s era drum machines. Curious minds can now check out the first single from the album, “Stupid in the Dark”. Angel Guts: Red Classroom is scheduled for a February 4 release date via Polyvinyl Records.
