Austin Psych Fest Announces 2014 Lineup Featuring Primal Scream, Loop, The Zombies and More

Some familiar names are stopping by Austin this year for the 2014 Psych Fest. The first round of lineup announcements has dropped. Expect an intriguing mix of the new and the established – odd, but definitely not boring.

The Austin Psych Festival is fast approaching its 7th birthday. It’s developed quickly, and each year has seen new stages, new acts, and new advances. Austin-dwellers have plenty of reason to rejoice – the Texas city is fast becoming an American musical hotbed. Not only is the Psych fest in town, but SXSW and the ACL Music Festival, two truly enormous bashes, are also based there.

As for the Psych Fest, prepare for a truly intriguing lineup. Headliners include a bevy of classic UK outfits. Loop, an 80’s act, is surprising enough, but 60s London megastars The Zombies are also inbound. If you’re detecting a theme here, forget it, newer acts are also showing up. Yamantaka // Sonic Titan for starts, not to mention of Montreal. Original headliners Primal Scream are, unfortunately, not making the date. Replacing them as headliner is psychadelic outfit the Brian Jonestown Massacre, who were added during a recent lineup expansion. Full list of bands below, as well as ticket info.
