Arcade Fire’s Reflektor Debuts at Number 1 on the Billboard 200 Album Charts

Arcade Fire is back on top, thanks to Reflektor. They don’t miss often, do they? This marks their second gold-medal debut in as many releases, and the one before that? Forget sophomore slumps, Neon Bible kicked off at number 2. Seriously, some bands have to work for this.

One of our first tastes of Reflektor came in the form of it’s interactive lead single and title track (featuring vocals from none other than the incomparable David Bowie). So, yes, there’s been bit of buzz about the new one, but that’s no surprise. It’s been four years since their last album, The Suburbs made the rounds, and we’ve had plenty of time to wait.

140,000 people were clearly tired of waiting, enough to send the album straight to the top of the charts. Arcade Fire hasn’t been slow to jump on their own bandwagon, either. The band’s partway through a bustling winter tour, recently dropping by the Hollywood Palladium. They’ve got some continent hopping in store as well, as the inaugural Lollapalooza Argentina recently announced them as headliners.
