Getting off the Metro at Union Station on November 1st, it was difficult at first to tell the celebrants on their way to Olvera Street for the traditional Latin American holiday of Dia de los Muertos from the ravers headed to nearby Los Angeles State Historic Park for HARD Day of the Dead.
While both wore traditional skull masks, the exposed skin of the EDM fans was a dead giveaway. Luckily, it was a warm fall evening and festival-goers enjoyed a thumping night in the middle of Chinatown. With four stages full of big name acts like Skrillex, jenky carnival rides and a beer garden or two, it was definitely a lively Day (and night) of the Dead.
