Robert Plant Claims Led Zeppelin Has Found Some Unreleased Songs

Turns out it is possible to just flat out lose a few songs. At least, that’s what Robert Plant recently told BBC Radio 6. The Led Zep singer apparently found a few quarter inch spools, gave them a listen with Jimmy Page, and found some previously unreleased material.

Seriously, you’d think they’d start keeping track of this stuff after awhile. Then again, it seems like this sort of thing happens pretty regularly – a similar discovery was made back in August, when material from Joy Division, New Order, and other bands was rescued from the trash.

The recent Led Zep finds came alongside the band’s spring cleaning/scavenger hunt that’s been going on of late. Material both old and new has been uncovered in the preparations for the upcoming release of a remastered edition of the band’s catalog. Those interested in these mysterious new recordings may not have too long to wait, as Plant has said that some might show up on future releases. And the content? At least some of them feature Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones on vocals. Your call on whether or not that actually sounds enticing.
