Take a listen – High on Fire is back with their first new music since 2012. “Slave the Hive” is here, and it’s exactly what we’ve come to expect from the Cali metal outfit. So sit back, and let’s run a volume test.
High on Fire has long held an unquestionable spot in doom metal royalty. Founded in 1998, the Matt Pike-driven project has been damaging eardrums and frightening parents for well over a decade. We last heard from them with 2012’s De Vermis Mysteriis (named after a grimoire from the Cthulu Mythos!), but they’ve broken that two-year silence with new single “Slave the Hive”.
And it rocks. That’s probably all we really need to say. It rocks hard enough, in fact, to make Toyota’s sponsorship of the newest High on Fire/Kverletak tour look even sillier. Nothing says hardcore quite like a new Scion. New single’s below, give it a listen. And seriously, volume as high as you can get it.
