Deadmau5 and Tommy Lee Claim Both Were Banned From Coachella By Paul Tollet Back in 2010

Tommy Lee made an appearance on a recent episode of Deadmau5’s YouTube show Coffee Run. Among other things, the two cleared up the rumors of their banishment from Coachella.

There has been a lot of rumor, but no confirmation, about house producer Deadmau5 (Joel Thomas Zimmerman) and Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee being banned from Coachella 2010, and possibly the festival entirely…until now. In the latest episode of Zimmerman’s Coffee Run, a YouTube show where he films himself and whatever famous friend (Pharrell and Russell Peters are past guests) driving to get coffee and shooting the shit, he and Lee were able to discuss what actually happened that year. The pair claim that Coachella promoter Paul Tollet aka “the promoter who shall not be named” banned them from the 2010 festival and all future Coachella events because they landed at the location in a helicopter. It’s unclear what the exact circumstances were that prompted the animosity, but they did mention something about a burning van. Who knows? Skip to the 7:15 mark for the conversation.
