Los Angeles label Manimal Vinyl is paying homage to the ’80s New Wave/rock band, as they have done before with David Bowie, The Cure and Madonna, according to Consequence of Sound. Musical acts that have signed up to do covers are Moby, Liars, Grimes, Warpaint, Little Dragon, The Holiday Crowd, Louise Burns, Barbarian, Service Bells, Juliette Lewis, Beliefs and American Idol’s Allison Iraheta with Halo Circus. The proceeds from this album will be donated to Amnesty International.

The songs appearing on Making Patterns Rhyme are not Duran Duran’s biggest hits, an intentional move by Manimal. Not all of the tracks have been chosen yet, but a full tracklist will become available in January 2014.
