“Get Lucky” techno group Daft Punk is reportedly releasing a deluxe edition of their chart topping album Random Access Memories on December 31st.
Daft Punk have had quite the successful year, starting with their viral hit “Get Lucky,” followed by the second release, “Lose Yourself To Dance,” which was followed by a video that they previewed at this year’s VMAs. But they didn’t just write hit singles, Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories debuted at number 1 on the Billboard charts and broke Spotify’s record for most streams in the first week.
The appearance of a Daft Punk stamped box equipped with its own security force at the New York Comic Con sparked rumors of what the band has in store for later this year. According to a Tweet by Janelle Rodriguez, who won a copy of the box, it contains a deluxe edition of RAM. With more information, HarderBloggerFaster states that the release will include:
“A full copy of ‘Random Access Memories’ plus the Japanese bonus track ‘Horizon‘. Disc 2 is said to include Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky‘ remix; a new Daft Punk remix of the current single ‘Lose Yourself To Dance‘; a robot’s remix of ‘Instant Crush‘, which is presumably the next single, and more unreleased tracks.
The third disc is said to be a DVD including the collaborators series; ‘Get Lucky’ teasers; ‘Lose Yourself To Dance‘ video; ‘Random Access Memoeries’ unboxing video; ‘Get Lucky‘ remix teaser and the video for ‘Instant Crush’.”
Adding to the validity of the article, RAM collaborator Paul Williams retweeted the HarderBloggerFaster article.
With their penchant for creating extras for their fans, including remixes and their own Spotify playlist, as well as the popularity of the album, it’s not a complete surprise the band is releasing this gold mine on December 31st.
