Atoms for Peace are known for their original and unique spin on songwriting and performance, but when it comes to their recent cover of Marvin Gaye’s “Got to Give it Up” they pay homage to the late great. In this fan video from their Mexico City concert on October 9th, Atoms for Peace deliver the legendary track in a Marvin-esque performance with a slight Atoms spin. Thom Yorke joined the band on-stage and the delivery was gold. Watch the video below.
Atoms for Peace news has been surfacing media outlets in the past few months, first with their secret show at the Silverlake Conservatory in Los Angeles, then with their very public fallout with Spotify. Most importantly iconic bassist and philanthropist, Flea, has been raising awareness for funding funding the Silverlake Conservatory of Music, which gives underprivileged children the chance to learn about music, and improve their lives in a big way. On October 30th Flea and his band Atoms for Peace, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Neil Young will be performing at Silverlake Conservatory of Music’s benefit dinner and auction.
