Nachtmystium founder and frontman Blake Judd was arrested last Saturday on charges of theft. Details are still fairly sketchy at this point, so expect some more on this story as events warrant.
Again, not too much to say. It is known that Blake’s bail was set to $25,000, and that he’s charged with a Class-A misdemeanor: “theft by unauthorized control of property not exceeding $500”. Not entirely sure what that means, but there you go.
This isn’t exactly the first time Judd’s found himself in hot water. He recently caught some static from fans over undelivered merchandise, and has been extremely honest about his struggles with substance abuse. Nachtmystium even received some bad press when their ties to National Socialist (neo-nazi) record production companies came to light. Judd and co. are firmly apolitical, but the revelation certainly did them no PR favors.
Judd’s recent legal run-in might spell trouble for metal fans waiting on Nachtmystium’s fall tour. The first dates fall within a week from today, and it’s unclear as of now whether or not Judd will be able to make them.
