Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings Announce New Album Give the People What They Want Rescheduled for January 2014 Release

Funk/soul revivalists Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings are back after the singer’s battle with cancer and are set to release their fifth studio album early next year.

Earlier this summer we announced the August release of Sharon Jone’s & the Dap-Kings latest album, Give the People What They Want. Unfortunately that date had to be pushed back when Jones was diagnosed with cancer in June. Well, after a successful surgery and treatment, Jones is back! The soul singer, who has previously performed with the likes of Lou Reed and Michael Buble, will finally release Give the People What They Want in January of next year. For those wondering about her cancelled tour, have no fear. Jones and the Kings will give a homecoming performance at NYC’s Beacon Theater on February 6th, their first show in almost an entire year.

Give the People What They Want is out January 14th on Daptone Records.
