Government shutdown got you down? Feeling furloughed? Well folks, it’s time to fiddle while D.C. burns – a whole pack of music venues are offering two-for-one ticket deals on marquis performances in Washington.
No secret that things are little dead on the hill right now. D.C. has been hit hard by the recent governmental shutdown, and a number of businesses are offering discounts to furloughed – and probably extremely pissed off – government workers. Two-for-one tickets won’t get congress of its collective ass any sooner, but it should sweeten the wait.
And we weren’t kidding when we called these marquis performances. The Flaming Lips will be in town, so if you’ve ever had a hankering for experimental rock and a completely surreal concert experience, snag those tickets. Seriously though, Wayne Coyne will probably roll out the giant hamster ball, just go. Andrew W.K., Tame Impala, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Soul Asylum…the list goes on. If you’re feeling blue, then the Waka Flocka Flame, Steve Aoki, and Pharrell Williams bit may be for you. Full list to follow, check this Washington Post article for more info.
