The album has certainly been a long time coming. Big Boi’s guest appearance on the album has been known since 2011, and as Modest Mouse fansite Interstate-8 points out, Novoselic and Modest Mouse have been jamming for some time now. “I’ve been hanging out with Modest Mouse,” Novoselic said in an interview in August 2012. “We’re just kind of playing; I don’t know what’s going on with it.”

Still, so far, the only tangible outcome has been Novoselic’s brief remarks during a recent interview on Spotify’s brand new Behind The Music analog Landmark.

I did a song with Modest Mouse earlier this year for their new record. It’s pretty edgy. I’ve got my big Gibson bass and a Rat distortion pedal busting out a… this bass riff.
